Slides 13-17 constitute an abbreviated form of the talk I originally proposed for this conference -- a report on the use of topic mapping in an effort whose goal is to allow collective intelligences to be instrumented and studied: Pierre Lévy's IEML (Information Economy Metalanguage) project.

Readers of this page might want to go to http://www.ieml.org/english/elements.html to learn more about IEML, and/or to see the IEML Dictionary website that is created and maintained as a topic map. I showed some of these pages during this talk, but they are not reproduced here. The interchangeable open-source XML form of the topic map can be downloaded from http://www.ieml.org/ieml_subject_map.xml.
