Again: What's a topic map?
- A topic map is a set of subject reifiers ("reifiers").
- A topic map can be described as a directed graph in which
every node (every reifier) reifies exactly one subject.
- A subject reifier is a set of "property instances" -- instances
of defined property classes.
- Property classes are defined by "Topic Map Applications"
-- ontologies that meet the disclosure requirements set forth
in the Topic Maps Reference Model.
- Property instances have values.
- The value must conform to the constraints defined for the
property class by its Topic Map Application.
- It can be defined to be any simple or complex structure
involving any kinds of data, and/or other reifiers in the topic
map.
- When a property has a value that's a reifier, the value is
an edge in the directed graph; it's a connection between two
nodes.
