A fable (6).
Isn't it nice that Principal Skinner:
does not have to get authorization from any sort of thought police before introducing the concerns of the teaching staff to the School Board?
does not have to discover any pre-existing authorized unique way to say what he has to say to the School Board, and is free to invent an expression that invokes the subject that he needs it to invoke?
does not have to be a high priest of linguistics, ontologies, or taxonomies in order to put the teaching staff's concerns into the mix of information that the School Board must process?
How would this change if the nationally standardized testing program were followed up by a program of nationally standardized school system management, whose reporting requirements made it necessary to conduct all of the School Board's business in an XML vocabulary, or in an RDF schema, or in any other specific formal system of expression?
